5 hindu tradition and their Scientific Significance

5 Hindu religious tradition that has a wonderful scientific reason:

Decorating the Main Entrance of House with Toran.

Rituals: All Indian festival or ceremonies starts with decorating the main door with the Toran( a combination of mango trees and yellow flowers tied with a string).

Reasons: Toran actually works as an air-filter. The green leafs apparently create photosynthesis and purify surrounding air. Plus dried mango leaves when mixed with coconut oil can be used for first aid in cuts and burns.

Worshipping Tulsi plant as a Goddess

Rituals: Tulsi plant is seen in every Hindu household. Family members worship tulsi plant every morning. Ancient Sages mentioned Tulsi as a Goddess in Scriptures.

Reason: Tulsi has remarkable antibiotic properties. Consuming Tulsi leaves increases our immune system. Tulsi plant is also insects repellent.

Worshipping an Idol.

Rituals: In Hindu tradition, an IDOL worship is considered utmost. People perform their devotion in front of an Idol of the Bhagwan.

Reason: Our Sages know that it is hard to concentrate while meditating or praying when there is no physical object indicating God in front of you to concentrate. The psychiatrist also confirms that our thought is shaped by what we see in front of us. So for continuous connection with God, it’s important that Physical presence of God to be constantly reminded to us through Idol.

Worshipping Peepal Tree(Sacred Fig).

Rituals: Hindus do Pradakshinas(Circumambulation) around the Peepal tree in morning and Sages also meditate under this tree.

Reason: Peepal trees don’t give edible fruits or strong wood, so no reason to keep it. Sages knew that we will all think like this, so they started worshipping tree so that we continue their tradition. Sages knew that Peepal is the only tree that gives produce oxygen 24 hours a day. So to save earth from global warming they attached traditional values to the tree.

Going to Temple every day.

Rituals: Generally every Hindu family goes to temple every week or on festivals. Some devotee visits the temple every morning. It is believed that apart praying in the house, one should also visit the temple to perform prayers.

Reasons: Temples are an immense source of Positive energy. The copper plate is installed beneath the main idol in Garbhgriha which absorbs magnetic energy from the earth and radiates it to surroundings. Thus a person doing Pradakshina of the main Idol absorbs that energy and this energy contribute for the better life. Moreover, every single act that we perform activates our five senses. So, visit a temple to recharge your energy and start fresh in morning
